Postflight instrument/equipment check

Capture anomalies right after shutdown: flags, erratic/lagging instruments, comm/nav issues, GPS integrity/database messages, autopilot behavior.
Write squawks clearly — symptom, not just “avionics acting up.”

Records that keep an IFR aircraft legal

Pitot-static / altimeter and transponder recurring inspections current.
VOR check recorded (error, date, place, signature) when using VOR for IFR.
Navigation database current cycle for IFR GPS/RNAV.
Confirm exact intervals/logging (91.411 / 91.413 / 91.171) with Walter.

Go / no-go & handover

Don't dispatch IFR with a lapsed required inspection or an unresolved airworthiness item.
Complete logs, secure the aircraft, brief maintenance/next crew on anything open.
